When an adult experiences a loss of autonomy that affects their ability to care for themselves or manage their affairs, a psychosocial assessment may be requested. This process aims to: - Understand the situation in its entirety - Respect the dignity and needs of the individual concerned - Support the family during what can often be an emotionally charged time - Inform appropriate and protective decisions The assessment is conducted with respect, active listening, and sensitivity, acknowledging each person's history, vulnerabilities, and strengths.
